Spring Foot Care Tips

Spring has sprung! It's time to shed the winter boots and sandals and show off our feet. But after months of being covered up, our feet might need some TLC to get them ready for the warmer weather. Here are a few tips to get your feet spring-ready:

Exfoliate

Winter boots and dry air can leave feet feeling rough and dry. Exfoliation is a great way to remove dead skin cells and reveal the smoother, softer skin underneath. We developed our 'Skin Sorbet' sugar scrub to be a 'three in one' solution - cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize! It comes in a great range of scents, is not greasy and foams up when it's activated - a unique feature!

Moisturize

Once you've exfoliated, it's important to moisturize your feet regularly. This will help to keep them soft and supple and prevent them from cracking. Look for a foot cream that is rich and hydrating, such as Dragonfly Dreaming Organics' Fortissimo! Serious Salve. This salve is made with organic ingredients like mango and shea butters, which are deeply nourishing for the skin.

If they're in good shape as they stand (as it were), a post-bathing visit from one of our lotions would be a super idea - choose from a selection of scents (we LOVE cooling Tuscan Lemon for our feet and legs!).

Pedicure

If you're looking for a more pampering experience, you can get a pedicure at a salon. This may include a foot soak, exfoliation, cuticle care, and a polish. Also a lovely thing to share with a daughter / Mum / Grandma!

Footwear

Now that your feet are looking and feeling their best, it's important to choose the right footwear. Opt for shoes that are comfortable and supportive, such as sneakers or sandals with good arch support. Avoid shoes that are too tight or constricting, as this can lead to foot pain and problems.

Here are some additional tips for foot care in the spring:

    • Wash your feet regularly. This will help to remove dirt, sweat, and bacteria.
    • Dry your feet thoroughly after washing. Moisture can lead to the growth of fungus. Be sure to check between your toes and on the soles of your feet regularly for signs of 'unusual activity' as it were.
    • Wear socks that absorb moisture. This will help to keep your feet dry and comfortable.
    • See a foot nurse, physiotherapist or podiatrist if you have any foot problems. A professional can diagnose and treat foot conditions such as bunions, hammertoes, and heel pain.
